Puglia

Puglia (or Apulia) is Italy’s longest wine region, encompassing the Adriatic coast of the country’s southern heel.  The dry, hot climate yields full-bodied, fruity reds from regional varieties like Primitivo – famous in other parts of the world as Zinfandel.  The Salice Salentino region gives its name to another powerful and spicy Apulian red, made predominantly from the Negroamaro grape.  Both are excellent accompaniments to hearty Italian meat dishes and pizza.
