Provence

The Greeks brought winemaking to Provence on the Mediterranean coast when they founded the city of Marseilles around the year 600, making it France’s oldest wine-producing region.  Today the area is well known for its pale pink, dry and elegant rose, made from varieties like Mourvèdre, which accounts for the vast majority of Provençal wine production.
