Italy

Wine has been made in Italy for thousands of years, from the pre-Roman days of the ancient Greeks and Etruscans.  Today the country is the world’s largest wine producer, with wines often made using the many native Italian grape varieties – including red Sangiovese and Nebbiolo and white Cortese and Grillo.  From rich and complex Amarone to crisp and refreshing whites like Gavi and sparkling Prosecco, Italy produces wonderful wines to suit all palates.
