Lebanon

Wine has been made in Lebanon for over 4000 years, making it one of the world’s oldest viticultural regions – Lebanese wine was transported across the Mediterranean by Phoenician sailors, spreading its fame throughout the ancient world.  The Bekaa Valley is home to the world-renowned Chateau Musar, established by Gaston Hochar in 1930, which makes its signature red wine from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes blended with the Rhone varietals Carignan and Cinsault.  Musar Jeune adds Syrah to the blend, using younger vines to create an exuberant, fruity unoaked wine.
