Sardinia

The second largest island in the Mediterranean, Sardinia is home to over a hundred different grape varieties, but winemaking is dominated by just two – Cannonau (the local name for Grenache) for reds and Vermentino for whites. The latter thrives in the island’s heat, producing a crisp, dry wine with notes of peach, apple and pear and an understated bitter complexity.
