The Stellenbosch region, one of South Africa’s leading wine-producing areas, lies about 40 miles to the east of Cape Town.  Stellenbosch’s hot and dry conditions – tempered by the cooling influence of nearby False Bay – suit the growth of many different grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc.
