Located in the Rioja Alavesa region, Laguardia is a medieval hilltop village and the birthplace of Artadi, one of the leading producers in Spain.  Artadi makes red wine from Tempranillo grapes, as befits the Rioja region, but its winemaking philosophy is very similar to Burgundy, with an emphasis on terroir and a desire to express the unique attributes of individual vineyards.
